Are Goodwin House health care services offered to adults of all ages, or only seniors?

Although we specialize in geriatric care, all of our services, including hospice care, outpatient therapy services and home health care, are offered to adults 18 and older.

Are your health care services Medicare-certified?

Yes, all Goodwin House outpatient therapy services, hospice care and in-home health care are Medicare-certified.

Are these services offered only at Goodwin House communities? Are they also available in patients’ homes?

These services are available both at our communities and in patients’ homes. Hospice care is provided at both Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads and Goodwin House Alexandria Life Plan communities, as well as in private homes and health care facilities throughout Northern Virginia. Residents can receive home health care at their private homes and wherever else they may call home (retirement communities, etc.). Additionally, individuals can receive outpatient therapy services at the Virginian Outpatient Therapy clinic in Fairfax, VA, as well as in their private homes.

What areas do you serve?

We serve home health care patients who reside in the City of Alexandria and in the following counties: Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William. Our hospice program serves residents throughout Northern Virginia within the Beltway.

What therapy services do you offer nonresidents?

We offer a variety of physical, occupational and speech language therapy options, as well as specialized services for Parkinson’s disease.

What home health care services do you offer nonresidents?

Non-Goodwin House residents can receive in-home health care, thanks to our partnership with Virginian Home Health Services. This includes therapy services, a home health aide to help with bathing and grooming, and skilled nursing care.

How do we get hospice care for a family member?

Please call us at 703.578.7108, and our hospice care team will work with you to create an individualized hospice plan, depending on your family member’s needs.

Do we have to pay for hospice care?

Goodwin House Hospice Care delivers services covered under Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance plans. Your financial responsibility is determined by the carrier and type of insurance you have.

Do you accept volunteers for your hospice care program?

Yes! We welcome any individuals who would like to apply as a hospice volunteer. Please email us or call 703.578.7108 for more information.
