Goodwin House Foundation Elects Seasoned Financial Executive Laura Bailey to Board of Directors

Bailey Brings Financial Leadership, Philanthropy and Affordable Housing Development Expertise to Goodwin House Foundation

Alexandria, Va. – The Goodwin House Foundation (GHF) recently announced that Laura Bailey has been elected to its Board of Directors. Bailey is a retired financial executive with 39 years of banking industry experience and strong philanthropic ties to Northern Virginia.

“We are thrilled to have Laura Bailey joining the Goodwin House Foundation Board of Directors,” said Gant Redmon, Chair of the Board. “As the daughter of a long-tenured resident at Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads, Laura has a natural affinity for our mission and understands the value and reputation of the Goodwin House organization. With Laura’s outstanding professional background in finance, corporate philanthropy and community development, she will serve as a dynamic individual on our board. We know Laura will be instrumental in helping our organization find innovative solutions to support, honor and uplift older adults and those who serve them.”

Most recently, Bailey led community work and affordable housing efforts for Capital One in McLean, Virginia, for 15 years. She previously held leadership positions in various community development and financial organizations, such as JPMorgan Chase, Affordable Housing Investors Council and Bank of America. After retiring in 2021, Bailey joined the board of The Aaron’s Company, serving on the Audit and Corporate Governance committees. Bailey is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and certified under the National Association of Corporate Directors.

“I admire the way Goodwin House considers the needs of older adults and those who care for them,” said Bailey. “It’s important that we rely on the strengths of those around us to live the fullest life we can. I’m excited to do my part in furthering that mission.”

The GHF Board of Directors consists of community leaders and citizens who are passionate about supporting the Goodwin House mission. Board members contribute more than 1,500 hours of their time on behalf of Goodwin House and make financial contributions to the Foundation.
